Portable Fire Extinguisher Service

The number and size of portable extinguishers required is set
forth in the National Fire Protection Association's Pamphlet I0,
"The Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers." Our sales
people are trained to determine the building occupancy, the
potential fire hazards and the anticipated class of fire before
recommending the proper type and size of extinguishers
required to meet codes. We make recommendations without
obligations and can assure delivery from our well stocked
warehouse.

6-Year Maintenance

Every six years, stored pressure extinguishers must be emptied and subjected to a full internal inspection and applicable maintenance procedures, including a thorough examination of all mechanical parts, extinguishing agent and expellent.

HydrostaticTesting

Periodic test mandated by NFPA and the Department of Transportation (DOT) requiring highly specialized test equipment to ensure the integrity of an extinguisher or cylinder at its listed operating pressure. Dry chemical, Halon 1211and other clean agent extinguishers are to be hydrotested at 12 year intervals. High-pressure carbon dioxide extinguishers are to be tested at 5 year intervals.
